I would like to file my PERM through a good immigration lawyer in bay area. Does anyone have any recommendation? Has anyone used Indu law firm?
Some of the big names like fragomen etc seem to handle mostly company cases and are too expensive for individual case filing.
Also how much is the charge typically for the whole GC process or PERM. I know it would vary depending on lawyers but i am looking to get some general idea on how much people on the Forum have spent filing their cases from GOOD lawyers.

It is better to spread the awareness about swine flu as it is projected to strike back in the end of September and peak by the end of October. Every one thinks that it is not of their concern but some one is getting affected till it contracts them. So before that happens let us spread the awareness about this deadly flu virus. Hi - I am on 7th Year of my H1. My I-140 has been approved. My I-485 is pending for while plus my PD is not current as of Jan 09. In this case...
a) Am I eligible to apply for H1 extension (I don't want to use EAD)?
Yes, you can apply for H1 extension when I-485 is pending
b) If Yes, will I get 1 Year or 3 Years?
Once I-140 is approved, you will get an extension for 3 years.

It's very painful to deal with these guys at times.
I also tried asking a finance broker about this and never heard back...
Have you tried apporaching another bank or some broker ?
(I was intrested to know if the can do a intrest only loan for 125% of current value...I would think no.....but perhaps no one has all the details ironed out yet)
Given a Chance will never deal with WF.. Horrible customer support.. and have bunch of jokers working for them..

Last October I hired a lawyer for an AOS ( I-485 ) and the I-130 and I-131 forms.
Obviously I did it because I did not have any knowledge about immigration matters.
In Novembre 2007 he did contact me telling me I needed the I-765 form to legally work in the country, so I did fill the form sending it in his office by mail.
He told me he sent the form in the first week of December 2007.
Ok now this is the situation :
I never get by mail the notice of action about the form I-765 and what concern me the most is that I still did not get the permit to work.
I periodically check the processing time cases from the USCIS' website, and I have seen that USCIS (NEW YORK area ) already processed the I-765 forms for the complete month of December, does anyone know if Uscis is having problem processing EADs....I am really worried that something did not go through... probably it's just normal to have so many questions but recently I think about that all the time.
Oh guys one more thing...I paid this lawyer thousand and thousand of dollars.
I realized reading the USCIS website that if you fill the form I-485 you are not required to pay the $ 340 fee for the I-765 form . Last November he asked me to send him a check for the EAD fee. When I told him that last time i spoke with him by phone he said he did know that , then he told me that he just had moved from his old office to a new one so my case was in storage, in storage ?? My case is still pending and he put it in storage, i am so disappointed ...unbelievable this lack of professionality.
I should have do it by myself at least now I would have money to buy a nice used car.

IV seems to have a lot of folks here on a h1b with a non profit organization. My wife is currently doing her residency in a non profit organization on a h1b so basically she is not subject to the cap.
After she finishes, and she looks for jobs, is it possible to get a h1b transfer in a profit organization without being subject to cap? Or H1b transfer is possible only with an non profit organization.
Any inputs will be well appreciated.

My case was approved on Aug 19, 2010. I received my card on Aug 26, 2010.
Unfortunately, The EAD card had a wrong start date. I have sent my cards back for correction on Sept 2, 2010.
(I do have approval e-mail of my cards and the case.)
So, Question is, Can I work while my cards come back with the correct date. I don't have receipt of the replacement cards in my hand yet.
Please let me know.

Thanks for ur answer. I saw case posted by Loti_GC and his did not seem to be the case of two different I-140. That what got me concerned. When I called USCIS they declined to reveal this information,
EB2, if your I-140 approval reads as "Section: Mem of Profession w/Adv Deg, or of Exceptn'l Ability Sec.203(b) (2)" You should be worried only if you had two different 140 with the same employer. Take infopass and give a try, there is no standard procedure to find out.

Monthly ~250 allocation is not good enough to cover pending cases prior to May 2006. prior to May'2006 no.of pending cases are close to 2700 cases, so this year quota is good enough to clear these pending cases. With porting we may also see Unavailable down the time.
This leaves for 2006 pending cases
China - 2950
India - 11800 . total ~15K
If we get spill over of 14K then EB2 India & China will move to 2007. Do we get 14K spillover for current year is Big ?

That helps somehow I was under impression that once you invoke AC21 you have to use EAD. I prefer to be on H1 as long as possible till GC come.

yes. AC21 is a provision to allow you to change employers without affecting ur 485. It has nothing to do with work authorization. Your authorization can come from ead or h1 transfer.
